Lawrence Ferrara

Dr. Lawrence A. Ferrara (born 16 May 1949) American music and copyright scholar, born in New York City, New York, USA.

Ferrara is a former Chair of the Music and Performing Arts Professions Department at New York University. Ferrara is a music copyright consultant who has lectured extensively on copyright issues, and has assisted on numerous US Federal Court decisions. He has written the critically acclaimed book Philosophy and the Analysis of Music: Bridges to Musical Sound, Form and Reference, published in 1991, and appeared in the 2007 documentary Good Copy Bad Copy.
